In her presentation at The Bridge Conference in August, Kathy highlighted what’s important in talking with the special donors who have made a significant investment in your cause. As Kathy says, major donors want to have a different kind of conversation with you, so keep in mind that you should:
Treat them like family, insiders
Define the solution in grand terms – not your work plan but how you will change the world
Share data – don’t skimp on details
Position your donor right in the center of the solution
Give them perks but acknowledge their motivations are altruistic, not based on perks.
