After all, if you had the most brilliant idea in the world for your fundraising campaigns and just needed someone to write it down, life would be super easy.
The truth is though—you don’t just need a good writer. You need a fundraiser who knows how to write.
There are a ton of great fundraising writers out there. . .Pru Bovee, Fred Vallejo, Lisa Sargent, Tara Pabellon, Barry Cox, Brian O’Leary, Bob Levy . . . I could go on and on. These are all super smart people who do TONS of thinking before they write a word for their clients.
So, when you are working on your budgets, remember that copywriters bring a lot to the table. . . and ask yourself why your budget for copywriting has been essentially flat for years, while postage, paper, and virtually every other cost have gone up.
Don’t these great thinkers deserve better? Think about it. And consider writing a better number in your budget next year.
