We’ve all heard a lot about the “missing middle” in our nonprofits. In a session at #Bridge15, I’ll be joining Chris Brooks and Maya Mahoney from Share Our Strength/No Kid Hungry Campaign to offer some practical advice for finding and engaging your mid-level donors.
We believe there are two important steps you can take immediately.
#1 – Make the effort. You can’t engage these donors without acknowledging their existence.
Share Our Strength/No Kid Hungry came up with a smart, low-cost way to engage their mid-level donors. They were successful and have expanded the program (which by the way, also increased employee engagement!). They’ll tell you all about it in our session.
#2 – Have a different conversation. Your mid-level donors aren’t the same as your everyday donors, but they’re not major gifts donors either.
I’ll share some useful tips on how to talk to your mid-level donors by engaging them in your mission and letting them know how they can help you change the world.
