Who was your favorite teacher?

There are an awful lot of special holidays in our country. There’s Bicycle Safety Month, International Chocolate Day and even National Hand Washing Week? (At Impact, we encourage you to enjoy safe biking, eating chocolate, and washing your hands outside these specially-designated times.)

But this week is National Teacher Appreciation Week, and we think that’s one worth shouting about. Since 1984, National PTA has designated one week in May as a time to honor the men and women who educate our children.

At Impact, we are giving a special shout out to our clients in the education field. Check out their websites, we think they’ll inspire you as much as they do us.

And don’t forget to say thank you to the teachers in your life this week. Because, if we’re lucky, we’re all still learning something new every day.

The Bishop John T. Walker School for Boys is a tuition-free Episcopal school in Southeast Washington, DC that prepares children from underserved communities for leadership and service in their communities and beyond.

NEA Foundation partners with educators to provide the funding, best-practice ideas, support, and accolades to help them work better . . . thereby helping students achieve more.

National PTA strives make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.

And the Van Andel Education Institute is dedicated to strengthening science education through programs that provide hands-on, inquiry-based learning opportunities across the educational spectrum, from elementary to high school to teachers.
